The academic path of Jesus at Laurus was fraught with challenges. Initially joining the institution before the pandemic with high aspirations, he was severely struck by COVID, leading to hospitalization and a necessary hiatus from his studies. Upon his return, his performance was exemplary. He was consistently punctual, actively engaged, and willingly assisted his peers in overcoming their difficulties. Further adversity struck when his mother encountered health problems, necessitating his travel to the Philippines for her care. The prospect of college seemed remote, especially as she approached her forties after a long academic hiatus. However, in 2022, following a major life transition and the pandemic, she enrolled at Laurus College for a fresh start. With its flexible schedule and supportive financial aid, Laurus College enabled her to balance work, family, and studies.
